Lauren PenningtonAssistant Headteacher Years 2-4
My name is Lauren Pennington and I have just completed my tenth year here at GEMS Royal Dubai School. I come from a very small island in Cumbria, UK and I completed my 4 year teaching degree just an hour away from home at St Martin’s college, Lancaster. I started my career in a tiny school Preston, with around 60 children, before moving to Dubai in 2012. When I am not at school I love spending time our doors and like to travel as much as I can. I am aiming to visit my 80th country this year! Having held various leadership roles throughout the school, I am now so excited to be moving into senior leadership to oversee Years 2, 3 and 4 in my Assistant Headteacher position. For me, the jewel in the RDS crown is our community. We are fortunate enough to have excellent relationships with our families, and this year I will be working to strengthen these relationships by promoting parents as partners. My door will always be open – so please pop by. I look forward to working with you all!
My marvelous moment (well, one of many) was seeing our parents back on site, engaging in their children’s learning for the 50th Jubilee of the UAE last December.
