On 20th June 2025, students from GEMS Royal Dubai School (RDS) had the honour of performing at the prestigious Dubai Opera as part of the first-ever GEMS Wellington and British Independent Performing Arts Gala — a landmark event celebrating the power of the arts and student creativity.

This extraordinary evening brought together 300 students from across GEMS Wellington and British Independent Schools, performing live alongside ten professional West End stars in a dazzling concert that showcased the brightest young talent in the GEMS network.

RDS Brings Annie to the Stage

Representing RDS with pride and passion, our talented students delivered a vibrant performance from the beloved musical Annie. With strong vocals, confident stage presence, and heartfelt storytelling, they captivated the audience and lit up the stage — all in one of the region’s most iconic performing arts venues.

Their hard work and dedication were on full display, and the experience of performing alongside West End professionals offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grow, connect, and be inspired.

A Night of Musical Theatre Magic

Held in partnership with Urdang International and West End Stage, the gala featured an array of popular hits and musical theatre showstoppers — a celebration of talent, teamwork, and the joy of performance. For RDS students, it was a chance to be part of something historic: the first-ever large-scale GEMS concert at Dubai Opera.

More Than a Performance

Events like these reflect the holistic education offered at GEMS Royal Dubai School, where the arts are celebrated, student voice is empowered, and personal growth is nurtured alongside academic achievement.

We are incredibly proud of our students for representing RDS with such confidence, creativity, and professionalism. A heartfelt thank you goes to our Performing Arts team and students for making this magical moment possible and our families for their ongoing support.

Bravo to our young stars — the future of the stage is bright!
