Dervala Doran

Dervala Doran is originally from a small town called Lurgan in the north of Ireland. Prior to moving to Dubai Dervala studied and worked in Twickenham, London. Whilst there she taught across a range of year groups, with much of her experience in UKS2. She has also previously worked as a deputy inclusion leader both in London and at RDS, specializing in pastoral care. In her free time Dervala enjoys travelling, reading, going to the beach, and spending quality time with friends. Since moving to Dubai, exploring new countries has been a cherished experience.

Dervala’s philosophy for teaching is to promote a create a classroom climate that ensures challenge for all whilst providing a nurturing and engaging environment. She is passionate about helping children become responsible for their learning and developing their HPL skills such as confidence and resilience, in order to truly understand how to learn and become independent learners in preparation for their life ahead. She is really looking forward to meeting all of our Year 5 and 6 families and the learning journey they can develop together!
